The Horsell Schools’ Parent Teacher Association (PTA)

The Horsell Schools’ PTA is a joint association for The Horsell Village School and Horsell CofE Junior School where all parents/carers with children at either school are automatically members.

Every year we organise various events trying to raise as much money as possible. The funds that we raise will be made available to the schools so that they can provide that little extra for our children. Last year we provided £10 000 to each school, which made it possible for The Horsell Village School to buy new Whiteboards for the classrooms and Horsell CofE Junior School will use their part towards a roof over their swimming pool.

So far this year, we have provided £7000 for The Horsell Village School towards updating of their outdoor area, and the Horsell CofE Junior School will receive the same amount towards their swimming pool project.

The PTA believe that the money spent will benefit the children’s social and academic education and that it has enabled the schools to provide items that would not have been possible only with the Local Education Authority’s funding.

PTA Committee:

The PTA is managed by a committee which consists of 3 officers (chair, treasurer and secretary) and ordinary committee members (no specific numbers). All parents are welcome to join the PTA committee and new members will be voted in at the Annual General Meeting (AGM).

PTA Meetings schedule 2012/2013:

All parents/carers are always welcome to attend our meetings. Our meetings start at 19.45 and should normally be finished by 21.00. The location varies between the two schools.
